Las Bambas, one of the most important mining operations in Peru, continues to promote the development and progress of its stakeholders, especially in the districts where it operates through several actions towards the communities.

In 2021, it implemented the “Las Bambas Recognition Program”, which consists of a reward that is given out every three months for the contractors who work hand in hand with the mining company.

In the month of our Bicentennial, our colleague Omar Huamán Villanueva, mechanical technician in STRACON’s maintenance management, received the first place as “SAFE WORKER.”

With 2 years working at the Las Bambas project and 7 years at STRACON, Huaman Villanueva has acquired the necessary experience to excel in his work within the mining industry. The 38-year-old employee has also participated in previous projects at Shougang, El Brocal, Buenaventura and Hudbay, always with STRACON.

“Omar has a great capacity and positive attitude towards safety and has demonstrated excellent adaptability to change. He shows leadership in his work team and is currently a reference for his fellow guards. We hope that more STRACON employees will continue to stand out in the next award ceremony. Without the effort and attitude of our employees, the growth of the company would not be possible” said the STRACON CEO.
