For this reason, we have designed an internal project that proposes to encourage and streamline decision-making, promote communication and teamwork, and achieve better results with greater efficiency. Its name is STRACON 4.0 and it has four pillars.

Quellaveco is a mining project of Anglo American, in which an autonomous fleet was launched: haul trucks that operate without drivers. To operate them, it was necessary to implement not only modern technology but also generate a cultural change in our team, not only in the parameterization but also in the development and operation of an autonomous fleet system that is different from a conventional fleet in many aspects. At the same time, a social plan was designed to guarantee a positive impact of technology on the communities of the area of influence; people were trained not only to be part of the project but to develop a career in the mining sector. All this made it possible to have a high rate of local employment, increase the percentage of asset utilization, and strengthen security measures.
