In a joint effort to promote a sustainable future for local communities, STRACON, in collaboration with Curimining from Ecuador, organized a visit of 14 leaders and representatives from the Canton of Las Naves, Ecuador, to the Shahuindo mine operated by Pan American Silver in Cajamarca, Peru. This event is part of the “Mining Experiences” initiative, designed to provide a comprehensive view of the technical, environmental, and social management of an operational mine.

Since 2015, STRACON has been involved in the Shahuindo mine, from its initial construction phase to its current operation. This extensive experience has enabled us to provide an integrated approach to mining project management, always with a strong commitment to sustainability and community development. The recent visit is yet another example of how cooperation between countries and companies can generate a positive impact on both local communities and the mining industry.

During the visit, the representatives from the Canton of Las Naves observed firsthand the responsible practices implemented at the Shahuindo mine, including efforts to minimize environmental impact and promote socially equitable development. This experience not only allowed the visitors to understand the challenges and benefits of modern mining but also strengthened the ties between Ecuador and Peru through the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the industry.
